2011

Steveston, BC

Our story

It started with a neighbour's furnace in January.

Arthur Chen grew up on a Steveston street where everyone knew whose porch light meant tea was on. After twelve years servicing commercial refrigeration, he spent a cold January weekend in 2011 bringing a neighbour's furnace back to life. By Monday, three more neighbours had called.

Cloudcoil Comfort began with one van and a simple promise: explain the work, quote it clearly, and leave the home cleaner than we found it. Fifteen years later we are a small team of five, still based in Richmond, still answering our own phones.

Modern townhouse row in Steveston with two compact outdoor heat pump units mounted neatly on wall brackets.

Steveston

A Steveston townhome trades its furnace for one quiet system

The 22-year-old furnace was loud and the upstairs bedrooms never cooled in August. We reused the existing ducts, added a return in the loft and mounted the outdoor unit on a wall bracket to keep the patio clear.

Ironwood

An Ironwood rancher retires its baseboard heaters

No ducts and no room for them. Three slim wall heads now serve the living room and two bedrooms, with line sets hidden in painted covers that match the siding.

Terra Nova

A Terra Nova family home gets two-zone balance

The family kept their newer furnace as backup and added a heat pump that handles most of the year. Two zones finally ended the upstairs-versus-downstairs thermostat debate.

Neighbours say

Comfort you can hear: almost nothing.

Priya walked me through every option without pushing the biggest one. The new heat pump is so quiet I checked twice that it was running.
Grace · Steveston
Our furnace died on a Friday night. Marco had a replacement in by Tuesday and vacuumed the whole hallway before he left.
Kevin · Brighouse
The mini-split quote matched the final bill to the dollar. That alone earned our next ten years of business.
Harjit · Hamilton
Wen booked us in Mandarin for my parents and texted updates in English for me. Small thing, huge difference.
Lily · Terra Nova
Two tune-ups a year and we have not thought about our heating since. That is exactly what we wanted.

Questions

Answers before you ask.

Do heat pumps work in Richmond winters?

Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps keep heating well below the temperatures Richmond usually sees. For homes that want extra backup, we can pair one with a gas furnace.

How long does a typical install take?

Ductless systems usually take one to two days. Ducted heat pumps and dual-fuel systems take two to three days, including clean-up and a walkthrough.

Is the in-home assessment really free?

Yes. A comfort advisor measures your home, checks your panel and ducts, and leaves a written quote. There is no charge and no obligation.

What areas do you serve?

Steveston, Brighouse, Terra Nova, Ironwood, Hamilton and South Vancouver. If you are just outside these areas, call us and we will let you know.

Do you offer service in Mandarin and Cantonese?

Yes. Our office handles bookings in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and we can send your quote in either English or Chinese.
